Episode 73: Helmut’s Nightmare – Finale

Veröffentlicht von Christopher Tauber am 5. Januar, 2016

With the beginning of the new year, we close this storyline, which is also based on the storyline before. Next: Something completely different. Or business as usual.

Over the holidays we finally got to see the most important film of all times. We’re not talking about Star Wars Episode New. We are talking about a movie, so damn important, it never even got made! Confusing? Check it out for yourself then: Jodorowsky’s Dune. I can’t think of ayone being able to not succumb to Jodorowsky’s genuine charme, wit and enthusiasm: Here is a movie about creative people and they all seem wonderful and nice, even HR Giger, and it all comes down to a true meaningful message about being creative. Then we had to wash all that goodwill down with a movie which is basically about people of the same profession but of a different kind: Want to see how a couple of assholes work on movies? Check out Hearts of Darkness Part 2! Lost Soul, the story of the filming of New Line Cinema’s The Island of Dr. Moreau. Just one fun fact: H.G. Wells blamed his friend Joseph Conrad for plagiarizing his book The island of Dr. Moreau by writing Heart of Darkness, on which Apocalypse Now! was based on. If you are thinking „Marlond Brando“ now, you’re on the right track. And it’s just the tip of the iceberg.
